Some encouraging news – and I am encouraged by the creativity, resourcefulness and energy of young people.

From drowning out horrible hashtags, RSVPing to harmful events, and donating to Black Lives Matter https://blacklivesmatter.com, KPop fans – who may be too young to vote- are finding innovative and fun ways to engage in democracy.

A group of Stanford students created the nonprofit Farmlink, a program that helps farmers connect with food banks, preventing waste and feeding the hungryhttps://thefarmlinkproject.org/

Voter registration groups like Vote Latino, When We All Vote, and Rock the Vote are seeing a jump in donations, engagement, and voter registrations.

For nerds, game players, animation fans, there is NerdsVote http://www.nerdsvote.com on Instagram, with a twice weekly live show where two well known voice-over actors (think Fallout 4, Boss Baby) chat with guest actors about spending quarantine time, voting and other tidbits. (Tue and Thurs 2pm Pacific time)

With vote-by-mail under assault, the progressive group Way to Win  https://waytowin.us is providing an additional $59 million to grassroots organizations to expand their voter outreach and education projects.

The young(ish) people at Yale Program on Climate Change Communication researched and tracked poll results, to find that the majority of people in the US (75-78%) – all states – favor voting by mail.

Of course, the young people in the Sunrise Movement http://www.sunrisemovement.org    are passionately devoted to making their future world a place to thrive

And for the drivers among us, it’s estimated that the world installed its one-millionth public electric vehicle outlet last month (in Germany). (Transportation pollution contributes horribly to climate change)
